Farewell marks media bridge between Bangladesh and Pakistan
Dhaka, June 22, 2026: Members of the Bangladeshi journalists' community accorded a reception to Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka Press Counsellor Fasih Ullah Khan at Pakistan House in Dhaka on Sunday, marking the successful completion of his official tenure in Bangladesh.
Fasih Ullah Khan completed a five-year assignment in Bangladesh–Pakistan media relations and is set to join the headquarters of Pakistan’s Press Department in his next posting.
Pakistan High Commissioner Imran Haider attended the event. Among others, Pakistan Deputy High Commissioner Mohammad Wasif, Political Counsellor Kamran Dhangal, noted journalist and former caretaker government press secretary Shafiqul Alam, as well as senior journalists from various media organisations in Bangladesh.
Speaking on the occasion, High Commissioner Imran Haider said Press Counsellor Fasih Ullah Khan had made significant contributions to strengthening professional engagement between the Pakistan High Commission and the Bangladeshi media during his tenure.
He commended Khan’s efforts in fostering mutual understanding, facilitating media interactions, and promoting constructive communication between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
The High Commissioner wished Khan success in his future responsibilities at the Pakistan Press Department headquarters and expressed confidence that the professional relationships he had built with the Bangladeshi journalistic community would continue to contribute positively to bilateral ties.
In his remarks, Fasih Ullah Khan expressed gratitude to members of the media for their cooperation and support throughout his assignment in Bangladesh. He said the friendships and professional relationships he had developed during his stay would remain among his most valued memories and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening understanding and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries.
The event concluded with participants sharing their experiences of working with Khan and acknowledging his role in promoting engagement between the Pakistan High Commission and Bangladesh’s media community.
