Switzerland Embassy backs Rights Hackathon 2026
The Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh has partnered with Safeguarding All Lives (SAPRAN) to organise a youth-focused human rights hackathon aimed at developing practical solutions to rights-related challenges in Bangladesh.
The initiative, titled “Shared Futures: Rights, Dignity and Coexistence in Bangladesh,” will bring together 28 young people from Dhaka and different parts of the country.
The participants will work in teams alongside lawyers, academics and practitioners to identify specific human rights issues and develop practical solutions, the Swiss Embassy said in a statement.
Alberto Giovanetti, counsellor and head of political, economic and communication affairs at the Embassy of Switzerland, signed an agreement with SAPRAN on the initiative yesterday.
The embassy said it was “very pleased” to support SAPRAN in organising the Rights Hackathon 2026.
The participating teams are expected to present their final pitches in November.
The initiative is intended to provide young people with an opportunity to engage with human rights issues and collaborate with experts from relevant fields to develop solutions.
