17 AL activists held during rally in Pallabi
Pallabi Police have arrested 17 leaders and activists of the Awami League (AL) and its affiliated organizations during a raid in the capital's Mirpur-12 area.
According to a DMP press release, the drive was conducted at around 6:30 am on Friday beside Metro Rail Pillar No. 140 in Mirpur-12, where leaders and activists of the Awami League, Jubo League, Chhatra League and their associate bodies allegedly brought out a procession aimed at conspiring against the government and spreading propaganda.
Among those arrested are Sujon Hossain, 26, Nasir, 25, Robiul Islam, 20, Ariful Islam Akash, 21, Alomgir Islam, 20, Billal Hossain, 22, Moniruzzaman Shawon, 19, Tarek, 20, Nayeem, 20, Syed Limon, 19, Ibrahim, 35, along with six children in conflict with the law.
Police seized a banner, a rented microbus and two smartphones from their possession during the operation.
Legal action against the detainees is underway, police said.
