Minister vows support for July martyrs' families, injured.
Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu today said the government will continue to stand by the families of the July mass uprising martyrs and the injured, ensuring their treatment, welfare and long-term rehabilitation.
"The government is committed to upholding the sacrifices of the martyrs and the spirit of the student-people's movement against fascism," he told journalists after placing wreaths at the July Memorial Monument at C&B Mor here this morning.
He said plans are underway to ensure long-term financial security for the martyrs' families and reiterated the government's commitment to building a prosperous and discrimination-free Bangladesh in line with the aspirations of the July mass uprising.
Speaking on the occasion, martyr Shakib Anjum's father demanded speedy justice, saying those responsible for his son's killing must be brought to justice without delay.
Earlier, the minister paid tribute to the martyrs by laying wreaths at the memorial alongside senior officials of the divisional and district administration.
Among those present were Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner A N M Dr. Bazlur Rashid, Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Foyzul Kabir, Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam and Rajshahi Zila Parishad Administrator Advocate Ershad Ali Isha.
