Bangladesh, Norway discuss expanding fisheries sector cooperation.

Gulbrandsen today met with State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan
Salauddin Tuku at his ministry's conference room at the Secretariat here.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed various issues related to
fisheries and marine resource management, fish production, research and
technology exchange and strengthening mutual cooperation in the fisheries
sector.
The State Minister highlighted the longstanding friendly relations between
Bangladesh and Norway and said Norway's experience in sustainable fisheries
resource management, marine fisheries, research and the use of modern
technologies is highly important for Bangladesh.
He said there are ample opportunities to further strengthen cooperation
between the two countries in these areas.
Norwegian Ambassador Håkon Arald Gulbrandsen highlighted the potential of
Bangladesh's fisheries sector and expressed interest in expanding cooperation
through sustainable fisheries resource management, research, technology
transfer, and knowledge exchange.
At the meeting, both sides expressed optimism about further expanding future
areas of cooperation through mutual collaboration and the exchange of
knowledge and experience in the fisheries sector.
Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Md. Delwar Hossain,
Director General of the Department of Fisheries Dr. Khaled Konok, Joint
Secretary of the ministry Baby Rani Karmakar, Economic and Commercial Adviser
at Norwegian Embassy here Syed Muntasir Bayezid, Founder and Chief Executive
Officer of Agile Resources Kumeruzzaman Khan Sohel and representative of
Galance Bangladesh Md. Mostafizur Rahman Khan were present at the meeting.
