Education minister accuses Awami League of embezzling teachers’ benefits.
Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon today said the Awami League government had embezzled Tk 7,000 crore of teachers’ retirement benefits.
He said this while addressing as the chief guest at a session titled “Rebuilding a Fragile Economy and Achieving Sustainable Development Goals” at Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre here.
Milon said the previous government had spent thousands of crores of Taka in the name of observing August 15.
Mentioning that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has been working round the clock for the needs of the country and its people, he said that he has also been working with equal importance on the development of all sectors, including education, health and housing.
Addressing the country’s political parties, the minister said, “Instead of only criticising, let us all work together.”
He also highlighted various development activities of the government, saying family cards are being distributed among the people of the country.
Milon said, “Following instructions of the Prime Minister, I am working day and night to improve the country’s education system.”
State Minister for Planning Zonayed Abdur Rahim Saki along with officials from various ministries and educational institutions, also spoke at the event.
