Corporate teams clash in thrilling football spectacle
The Axentec Presents FICCI Football Tournament 2026 has commenced with a vibrant ceremony at Nutmeg Field in Sun Valley Abashon, Shatarkul, marking a major milestone in Bangladesh’s growing corporate sports culture. Organised by Nutmeg under the Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), the tournament brings together leading multinational companies in a competitive football platform.
The opening ceremony drew prominent corporate leaders, sports officials and participating teams.
Speakers highlighted the importance of corporate football in promoting teamwork, leadership and inter-company collaboration. Bangladesh Football Federation Vice President Fahad Karim described the tournament as a key initiative to expand football engagement beyond traditional arenas.
This year’s edition features 20 corporate teams, reflecting strong growth and rising enthusiasm compared to previous seasons. The opening match saw defending champions Foodpanda Bangladesh dominate Singer Bangladesh with a convincing 4–0 victory, setting an energetic tone for the tournament.
Other opening-day results added excitement, with American & Efird Bangladesh securing a 2–1 win over STS Group, while British American Tobacco Bangladesh defeated Standard Chartered Bank 3–0. Robi Axiata PLC also impressed with a 2–0 victory against Nestlé Bangladesh PLC.
The tournament, supported by Axentec, Singer-Beko and other partners, will run until May 15, featuring 50 matches across 16 match days.
With strong participation and competitive spirit, the event reinforces football’s growing influence in Bangladesh’s corporate landscape.
