Japan Festival 2026 to showcase karate philosophy in Dhaka
Dhaka, September 9, 2026: The philosophy, discipline and traditional values of Japanese karate will be among the attractions at the upcoming Japan Festival 2026, scheduled to be held in Dhaka on September 18.
The Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh highlighted the significance of karate ahead of the festival in a Facebook post published on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 3:32 PM.
“There is no first attack in Karate,” the embassy said in the post, describing the principle as reflecting the essence of Japanese martial arts, particularly self-mastery, discipline and respect.
The embassy said true strength in karate is not simply about the ability to fight, but about maintaining discipline and remaining calm.
According to the post, visitors to Japan Festival 2026 will have an opportunity to experience the philosophy, tradition and artistic aspects of karate. The event will allow participants to step onto the mat, observe karate movements and learn about a martial art that has been embraced by practitioners across generations.
The embassy said karate represents more than a sport, with its practice promoting values and a way of life rooted in discipline and self-control.
Japan Festival 2026 is being organised by the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of Bangladesh. The festival is scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2026, from 3:00pm to 8:30pm at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka.
The karate segment is expected to offer visitors a glimpse into one of Japan’s most recognised traditional martial arts while highlighting the cultural philosophy behind the practice.
