Tree plantation under BYD Bangladesh’s ‘Green Drive’ initiative
Dhaka, October 10, 2026: As part of its commitment towards environmental sustainability, BYD Bangladesh has planted trees at Sunvalley Grand Circle in Dhaka, in collaboration with the Sunvalley Community. The tree plantation drive was held on Saturday (October 10, 2026) from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, marking the conclusion of its month-long ‘Green Drive’ campaign in September.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Mr. Ketsu Zhang, Deputy General Manager of BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division, and Mr. Hafizur Rahman Khan, Chairman of CG Runner BD Ltd., and Amid Sakif Khan, Managing Director, CG Runner BD Ltd.
Under the tagline ‘Drive Today. Grow Tomorrow.’, the campaign pledged to plant a tree for every test drive taken across BYD outlets in September, which resulted in more than 500 trees being planted.
The initiative is part of BYD’s wider focus on environmental sustainability and supports its global mission and vision to “Cool the Earth by 1°C”. BYD Bangladesh plans to continue the Green Drive initiative in the long-term.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Ketsu Zhang said, “Bangladesh is an important market for BYD. We see great potential here. But for us, being in Bangladesh is not only about selling cars. We want to be part of the development of the New Energy Vehicle ecosystem in this country. And we also want to contribute to the communities where we operate. And this is why initiatives like Green Drive are important."
Mr. Amid Sakif Khan added, “When people think of BYD, they think of new energy vehicles, technology and innovation. But for us, sustainability goes beyond the vehicle. That is the idea behind BYD Green Drive. The real impact is not only the number of trees. It is about encouraging people to see that small, responsible actions can create a bigger impact when we take them together.”
