NSTU students receive AI skills training

Noakhali, September 28, 2026: Aspire to Innovate (a2i) is providing a two-day training programme to 140 students of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) to strengthen their artificial intelligence skills for the future workplace. Organised jointly by NSTU and a2i, fourth-year and postgraduate students are taking part in the training in four batches.

The inaugural session was held on Monday with NSTU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Golam Rabbani in the chair. a2i Project Director (Additional Charge) and Additional Secretary Muhammad Anwar Uddin, and Head of Programme Management Sams Ul Arefin Khan attended as guests. The programme was moderated by a2i’s Future of Work Team Lead Salahuddin Mohammad Uzzal.

Also present were Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohammad Safiqul Islam; Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Hasan Uddin; Director of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell Professor Dr. Ashadun Nobi; Associate Professor Dr. Md. Masudur Rahman of the Department of Information and Communication Engineering; a2i Chief Technical Advisor Mohammad Masudur Rahman; Head of Communications Mohammad Safiul Azam; National Cyber Security Agency’s Assistant Director M. Niaz Mohammad Nazmul Huda Mithu, Md. Riazul Islam of Agency to Innovate and other distinguished guests.

Professor Dr. Golam Rabbani said AI should be increasingly used in everyday academic and professional work so that students can keep pace with global technological advancement. He stressed that AI use in papers, articles and research must be ethical and free from plagiarism.

Muhammad Anwar Uddin said rapid technological change is reshaping workplace skills, making it essential for universities to equip students with practical knowledge of AI and other emerging technologies.

Sams Ul Arefin Khan said a degree alone would not be enough for the future workplace. The training, he said, aims not merely to teach a few AI tools, but to help students apply AI effectively in education, research and professional life.

Professor Dr. Md. Hasan Uddin said technological and AI skills are now crucial alongside academic knowledge, while Mohammad Masudur Rahman stressed the importance of data privacy and responsible AI use.

The training covers AI, machine learning and generative AI, with hands-on sessions on prompt writing, CV and cover letter preparation, job interview practice, research and academic writing, information verification, presentation development and “vibe coding”.

It also addresses AI ethics, bias, limitations and personal data protection. Organizers say participants will receive certificates upon completion of the training.
