Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for Health Dr. S M Ziauddin Haider has urged students to make books their best friends.
“You (students) will be the future saviours of the country. Remember, a dream is not what people see while sleeping; a dream is what does not let people sleep. Move forward with the goal of fulfilling that dream,” he said while addressing a reception for meritorious students who received scholarships in the Primary Scholarship Examination-2025 here.
A district-level seminar on improving the quality of primary education and a reception for 141 meritorious students who received Talentpool scholarships in the Primary Scholarship Examination-2025 were held at the District Shilpakala Academy.
The District Administration and District Primary Education Office arranged the event in cooperation with the District Council, municipality and all upazila parishads.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Momin Uddin presided over the function.
The seminar discussed various aspects of improving the quality of primary education, developing students’ talents and further improving the educational environment.
Later, 41 meritorious students from Jhalakathi district who received Talentpool scholarships in the Primary Scholarship Examination-2025 were accorded a reception.
To boost the confidence of the young students, Ziauddin Haider shared stories from his own life.
District Council Administrator Advocate Md. Shahadat Hossain, Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) S M Bayezid Ibn Akbar, District BNP Convener Advocate Syed Hossain and District Primary Education Officer Md. Shahinul Islam Majumder were present as special guests.
