Rubio, Saudi Foreign Minister Discuss Iran, Sudan and Yemen

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the sidelines of the G20 Ministerial in Atlanta, Georgia, on Friday, discussing bilateral cooperation and key regional developments, including Iran, Sudan and Yemen.

According to a statement issued by the US Department of State on October 30, the two leaders discussed cooperation on a range of regional issues as Washington and Riyadh continue diplomatic engagement on matters of shared interest.

The meeting also featured a significant step towards strengthening US-Saudi economic and commercial ties, with Rubio signing the participation contract formalising the United States' involvement in Expo 2030 Riyadh.

The US participation at the global exhibition is expected to provide a platform to showcase American innovation, expand business opportunities for US companies and further strengthen the partnership between Washington and Riyadh.

Expo 2030 Riyadh is expected to serve as an international platform for countries to present technological advancements, investment opportunities and innovations while promoting economic and cultural cooperation.

The meeting underscores the continued engagement between the United States and Saudi Arabia on regional diplomatic priorities as well as economic cooperation.

However, the State Department's readout did not provide further details about the discussions on Iran, Sudan and Yemen or specify any concrete agreements reached during the meeting.
