A video goes viral on social media has sparked concern after it allegedly showed three men being assaulted on a train in India by a group of passengers who suspected them of being Bangladeshi nationals.
The footage was shared on Instagram by The Khobor media outlet on July 29, 2026, and has since attracted significant attention online.
According to eyewitness accounts and videos circulating on social media, the incident took place aboard a train in India, where the three men were reportedly questioned, pushed and physically assaulted by a group of fellow passengers.
The video clips show the men being surrounded and struck while the attackers allegedly accused them of being Bangladeshi nationals. Some of those involved were also heard chanting slogans associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
The authenticity of the video, including the exact location and date of the incident, has not yet been independently verified.
The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
Meanwhile, police in the states where the alleged attacks were reported said they are reviewing CCTV footage and social media videos to identify those involved and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Human rights organizations have called on the authorities to conduct a transparent investigation, prosecute those responsible regardless of their affiliations, and implement measures to protect vulnerable communities from vigilante violence.
Indian authorities have also appealed to the public not to take the law into their own hands, urging citizens to report suspicious cases to law enforcement agencies for proper verification rather than resorting to violence.
