China hosts reception for Bangladesh senior officials heading for training programme
DHAKA, October 8, 2026 — The Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh hosted a reception on Wednesday for senior Bangladeshi government officials who are scheduled to travel to China under the 2026 Bangladesh Government Senior Officials’ Training Programme.
Dr Liu Yuyin, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, and Md Ismail Zabihullah, Adviser to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh on Public Administration, attended the reception and delivered remarks.
The participating officials, who are set to visit China as part of the training programme, were also present at the event.
In his remarks, Dr Liu said China-Bangladesh relations had been elevated, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, to the building of a China-Bangladesh Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.
He said the development had injected strong momentum into the long-term development of bilateral relations.
“China firmly supports Bangladesh in exploring a development path suited to its own national conditions,” the Chinese diplomat said.
Dr Liu expressed hope that the training programme would help strengthen exchanges of experience in state governance between the two countries.
He also hoped the programme would contribute positively to Bangladesh's national development and to efforts to build a China-Bangladesh Community with a Shared Future.
Md Ismail Zabihullah expressed appreciation to the Chinese side for its arrangements for the training programme.
He said the visit to China would provide the Bangladeshi officials with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of China's development experience.
The visit, he added, could also help enhance mutual understanding and trust between the two countries and their peoples.
Zabihullah further expressed hope that the programme would help expand practical cooperation between Bangladesh and China in areas including trade, science and technology.
He said such exchanges could contribute to delivering more tangible outcomes in bilateral relations.
The training programme comes as Bangladesh and China continue to expand engagement in development, trade, technology and public-sector cooperation.
