Indian Defence Delegation Arrives in Bangladesh

DHAKA, September 1, 2026: A 15-member delegation from India’s National Defence College (NDC), New Delhi, arrived in Bangladesh on August 30 as part of a Strategic Neighbourhood Study Tour, aimed at strengthening understanding and institutional engagement between the two countries.

The delegation comprises 15 officers drawn from the Indian Armed Forces, Civil Services and armed forces of friendly foreign countries.

Following their arrival in Bangladesh, the delegation met and interacted with High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi.

As part of the study tour, the visiting delegation will be hosted by the Bangladesh Armed Forces and is scheduled to engage with senior civil and military officials in Bangladesh.

The interactions are expected to provide the delegates with an opportunity to gain insights into Bangladesh’s strategic, security and governance perspectives while facilitating professional exchanges between officials of the two neighbouring countries.

Study tours by defence institutions such as the National Defence College form an important platform for enhancing strategic understanding, professional cooperation and people-to-people contacts among participating countries.

The visit comes as Bangladesh and India continue to maintain regular engagement across defence, security and other areas of mutual interest.
