Embassy says travel plans can continue as usual.
No Bangladeshi nationals have been reported among the casualties following severe floods and landslides in Nepal, while Bangladeshi tourists currently in the country are said to be safe, according to the Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu.
The embassy said conditions in major tourist destinations, including Kathmandu, Pokhara and Nagarkot, remain largely normal despite the recent natural disaster.
Md Showeb Abdullah, Counsellor at the Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu, said the worst-affected areas are mainly located along the route towards Kailash and Manasarovar, a route that is not commonly used by Bangladeshi tourists.
The embassy is maintaining regular communication with Nepalese authorities and the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to monitor the situation and the safety of Bangladeshi nationals.
He said no Bangladeshi casualties had been reported so far.
Meanwhile, a number of Bangladeshi tourists travelling from Pokhara to Kathmandu faced temporary difficulties after a major highway was closed as a precaution.
According to the counsellor, several tourists contacted the embassy after becoming stranded for nearly six to seven hours along with thousands of other passengers. Once the road reopened, they continued their journey and reached Kathmandu safely.
The temporary closure was prompted by concerns over possible flash flooding linked to rising water levels in the Trishuli River.
The embassy said the Kathmandu-Pokhara highway itself has not sustained significant damage and traffic has resumed.
Officials have also advised Bangladeshi travellers in Nepal not to panic, saying movement in the main tourist areas remains normal.
The Bangladesh Embassy has not issued any travel advisory or alert over the situation so far.
