China-Bangladesh deepen ties in education, tech, health talks.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a courtesy call on Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Kayser Kamal at his office at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban today.
During the meeting, the Deputy Speaker said China is one of Bangladesh’s key development partners, noting that Chinese technology has been playing a significant role in the country’s overall development in sectors such as agriculture, health, and information technology.
He also emphasized the need for further simplifying the process for Bangladeshi students seeking higher education in China, said a press release.
Barrister Kamal mentioned that he has stepped down from his party position to uphold the neutrality of the Deputy Speaker’s office. He expressed hope that the opposition would play a constructive role in making parliament more effective and vibrant.
Ambassador Yao Wen said bilateral cooperation between China and Bangladesh continues to grow steadily.
He noted that the Communist Party of China considers the BNP as a democratic party and acknowledged its leadership’s contributions to Bangladesh’s development. The ambassador also invited the Deputy Speaker to visit China.
The meeting discussed a range of bilateral issues, including enhancing cooperation in education, health, and technology sectors.
Both sides exchanged goodwill mementos during the meeting.
Senior officials from the Chinese Embassy and concerned officials of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat were present at the meeting.
