Japan vows to deepen ties with Bangladesh: Ambassador SAIDA
Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh SAIDA Shinichi has expressed Japan’s commitment to supporting Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s efforts to build a “new Bangladesh” while further deepening bilateral relations across a broad range of areas.
The ambassador made the remarks during a courtesy call on Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan on September 30.
During the meeting, Ambassador SAIDA congratulated Moyeen Khan on his appointment and expressed Japan’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with Bangladesh.
In response, the minister said Japan has been Bangladesh’s largest development partner and has consistently supported the country’s development since independence.
Moyeen Khan expressed his appreciation for Japan’s longstanding cooperation and gratitude for the support provided to his ministry by the Japanese government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
He also expressed hope for further expansion of cooperation between the two countries, according to the Japanese Embassy.
