Minister for Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare Prof Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, MP today inaugurated a job fair at Birampur Upazila Government College ground in Dinajpur to create employment opportunities for jobless young men and women.
Speaking as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony, he said the fair has been organised to create employment opportunities for jobless young men and women and adolescent boys and girls of the district, including his constituency Dinajpur-6.
It will allow job seekers to establish direct contact with various private organisations and entrepreneurial institutions, he said.
The minister said the fair will help job seekers acquire the qualifications, skills and experience needed to get jobs. By taking part, young men and women will gain practical experience of the recruitment process and learn in detail about job opportunities, he said.
Besides looking for jobs, Zahid Hossain said, building interest and knowledge among young people in becoming new entrepreneurs is also a key aim of such events.
He expressed hope that many would not only find employment but also be inspired to build their own businesses and enterprises.
