Maldives High Commissioner Shiuneen Rasheed meets Bangladesh Attorney General Ruhul Quddus Kazal to discuss legal cooperation, constitutional reform and institutional capacity building.
DHAKA: Maldives High Commissioner to Bangladesh Shiuneen Rasheed has expressed interest in strengthening legal and judicial cooperation between the two countries.
She made the remarks during a meeting with Attorney General Barrister Md. Ruhul Quddus Kazal at his office at the Supreme Court in Dhaka on Tuesday noon.
During the courtesy call, the two sides discussed opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation through stronger legal frameworks, knowledge sharing, the exchange of expertise and improved institutional capacity.
The Attorney General briefed the High Commissioner on Bangladesh’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its legal framework and initiatives related to constitutional reform.
The meeting also highlighted the potential for deeper engagement between the two countries in the legal and judicial sectors through institutional cooperation and professional knowledge sharing.
Following the meeting, Rasheed interacted with young law graduates participating in the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) Internship Programme 2025.
The programme, implemented by the Attorney General’s Office in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), aims to provide law graduates with practical legal training, mentorship and professional development opportunities.
It seeks to equip young graduates with hands-on experience and the professional skills required for careers in the legal sector.
The High Commissioner’s interaction with the interns highlighted the importance of professional development and knowledge sharing in strengthening legal institutions.
The meeting reflects efforts to explore further avenues of cooperation between Bangladesh and the Maldives, including institutional collaboration and professional exchanges.
