Muhammad Abdul Muhith begins diplomatic assignment as Bangladesh High Commissioner in London.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK) Muhammad Abdul Muhith has formally begun his diplomatic assignment in London after presenting working copies of his credentials to the British authorities.
Muhith presented the working copies of his credentials on Monday to Assistant Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps Sarah Broughton OBE at the historic Lancaster House in London, according to the Bangladesh High Commission in London.
The presentation marked the formal commencement of his diplomatic responsibilities in the United Kingdom ahead of the presentation of his credentials to The King.
Muhith said he looked forward to further strengthening the longstanding friendship and multifaceted partnership between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom.
The government appointed Muhith, a former Rector of the Foreign Service Academy, as Bangladesh's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification on August 24 confirming his appointment on a two-year contractual basis.
A career diplomat and experienced multilateral practitioner, Muhith brings more than three decades of diplomatic experience, including postings in New York, Vienna, Washington DC and several Middle Eastern and European capitals.
