Swapon pays tribute to Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia.
Newly appointed Political Adviser to the Prime Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon today paid tribute to BNP Founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
He paid the tribute by placing floral wreaths at the graves of Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.
On the occasion, a large number of BNP leaders and activists, led by the party’s Acting Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, were present.
After placing wreaths, Swapon, immediate past information and broadcasting minister, offered fateha and joined a doa and munajat seeking eternal peace and forgiveness for the souls of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
Leaders and activists of Barishal district and metropolitan BNP, as well as BNP leaders from Swapon’s electoral constituency -- Gournadi and Agailjhara upazilas -- and neighbouring upazilas also joined the homage programme.
Leaders and activists of different affiliated and associate organisations of the party were also present.
