Dr Abdullah Zafer bin Abiyah has said.

In a written interview with The Shuttle Times, the ambassador said the two countries had an opportunity to take their longstanding relationship into a more comprehensive and sustainable phase through stronger economic cooperation and expanded partnerships across key sectors.

“Our key priorities include strengthening economic and investment cooperation, expanding partnerships in energy, infrastructure, logistics, and food security, continuing cooperation in labour and skills development, promoting bilateral trade, and enhancing coordination on issues of mutual interest,” he said.

Saudi Arabia Identifies Key Sectors for Bangladesh Investment

H.E. Dr. Abiyah described Bangladesh as an important partner in South Asia, highlighting the considerable economic and human potential of both countries as a foundation for expanding bilateral cooperation.

He said Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh had significant opportunities to develop a strategic partnership that would serve their mutual interests and contribute to regional stability and prosperity.

Investment, energy and infrastructure are among Riyadh’s key priorities for strengthening economic engagement with Dhaka. The two countries could also explore broader cooperation in logistics and food security, according to the ambassador.

Promoting bilateral trade is another priority identified by the Saudi envoy. Stronger commercial engagement could help both countries explore opportunities across sectors and deepen their economic relationship.

The ambassador also highlighted labour cooperation and skills development as important components of bilateral relations, alongside greater coordination on issues of mutual interest.

Longstanding Ties Offer Foundation for Strategic Partnership

Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh share longstanding relations based on mutual trust, religious bonds, people-to-people connections and shared economic interests.
