UAE Government Provides Humanitarian Assistance to 5,000 Rohingya Families Affected by Recent Disasters
Dhaka, 25 August,2026: The Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has extended humanitarian assistance to people affected by the recent floods and landslides in Bangladesh. Through the Foreign Aid Office of the Embassy of the UAE in Dhaka, food and clothing packages are being distributed among approximately 10,000 affected families across different parts of the country.
As part of the initiative, humanitarian assistance has been distributed among approximately 5,000 Rohingya families residing in Camps 3 and 4.
The distribution program was attended by Rashed Mohammed Nasser Almeili Aljabi, Director of Foreign Aid at the Embassy of the UAE in Bangladesh.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Standing beside people affected by disasters such as floods and landslides is a humanitarian responsibility. The UAE has undertaken this initiative to help meet some of the immediate needs of affected families and to stand beside them during this difficult time.”
Recent floods and landslides have caused significant hardship for many families, disrupting their homes, livelihoods and daily lives. The humanitarian initiative aims to address some of their immediate needs and help alleviate the difficulties they are facing.
The UAE’s humanitarian assistance reflects the longstanding friendship and close ties between Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates, as well as the UAE’s continued commitment to supporting the people of Bangladesh during times of disaster and humanitarian need.
