China-Bangladesh ties at historic high after PM's China visit
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen has said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's recent visit to China marked a new milestone in bilateral relations, with both countries agreeing to elevate their Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and jointly build a China-Bangladesh community with a shared future in the new era.
The ambassador made the remarks while addressing a seminar on high-level visits on Saturday (July 18), attended by more than 100 participants, including Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, representatives from different sectors and members of the media.
Yao Wen said China has consistently attached great importance to its relationship with Bangladesh and would remain a trustworthy friend, good neighbour and reliable development partner.
He said Beijing is ready to work closely with Dhaka to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, deepen exchanges on governance, expand practical cooperation in a wide range of sectors, including defence, and deliver greater benefits to the people of both nations.
The Chinese envoy described the outcomes of the prime minister's visit as fruitful, saying the upgraded partnership would inject fresh momentum into bilateral cooperation and further strengthen long-term strategic relations.
Speakers at the seminar described China-Bangladesh relations as being at their strongest point in history and expressed optimism that the two countries would continue working together to advance the vision of a shared future and expand cooperation across multiple sectors.
