Indian National Defence College delegation visits Bangladesh

A delegation from India’s National Defence College, New Delhi, visited key defence and security institutions in Bangladesh as part of a Strategic Neighborhood Study Tour, highlighting the growing professional exchanges and defence cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.

During the first day of the tour, the delegation visited the Naval Headquarters, Army Headquarters, Armed Forces Division and National Defence College in Mirpur.

The Bangladesh Navy hosted the visiting delegation to a dinner at BNS Dhaka in the evening.

On the second day, the delegation visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh Military Museum and Air Headquarters. On the third day, the delegation travelled to Cox’s Bazar and visited a Bangladesh Air Force base.

During the visits, the Defence Advisor and head of the delegation held meetings with senior leadership of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. The discussions covered a range of issues, including defence cooperation and matters of mutual strategic interest.

The exchanges provided an opportunity for the two sides to share perspectives on regional security and the strategic priorities of Bangladesh.

According to the visiting delegation, the study tour also offered valuable insights into the unique security challenges faced by Bangladesh and the country’s strategic priorities.

The interactions between the two countries’ defence establishments were aimed at strengthening the longstanding bonds of friendship and camaraderie between the armed forces of Bangladesh and India.

Such professional exchanges and institutional engagements are expected to contribute to further strengthening defence cooperation and mutual understanding between the two neighbouring countries.

The study tour also underscored the importance of continued dialogue and knowledge-sharing between Bangladesh and India on regional security and strategic affairs.
