Minister urges collective efforts to build democratic, prosperous Bangladesh.
Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Aazam Khan has called upon all to work collectively for the development of the country.
He made the call while addressing as chief guest a procession and protest rally organised by Basail upazila unit of BNP today against attempts to destabilise the country through planned terrorism.
"We have repeatedly called upon the opposition in parliament not to oppose for the sake of opposition and not to resort to arson and violence. We believe in democracy and want the opposition to pursue constructive politics," he said.
Addressing the opposition, the minister said, "Whatever you have to say, say it in the Jatiya Sangsad. Let parliament be the focal point for all discussions, shortcomings and solutions. Only then will parliamentary politics be established."
He said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman had pledged to build Bangladesh as a democratic and prosperous country after forming the government.
"The incumbent Prime Minister has worked day and night, and as his colleagues, we are also working," he said. Basail upazila BNP acting president Mamun Al Jahangir presided over the programme.
