Bangladesh, Pakistan discuss expanding cooperation in key areas Bangladesh and Pakistan have agreed to explore greater cooperation in trade, investment, education, healthcare and connectivity as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations.

The understanding came during a meeting between Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir at the latter’s office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka yesterday afternoon.

The Pakistani envoy congratulated Kabir on assuming office as state minister for foreign affairs, according to the Pakistan High Commission.

Haider also recalled his previous meetings with Kabir when the latter served as an adviser to the prime minister.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to further strengthen Bangladesh-Pakistan bilateral relations through enhanced cooperation in trade and investment, education, healthcare, connectivity and people-to-people contacts. They also exchanged views on enhancing regional and international cooperation, the high commission said.

The meeting reflects continued diplomatic engagement between Dhaka and Islamabad, with both sides exploring avenues for broader cooperation across economic, social and diplomatic sectors.
