Bangladesh, India discuss bilateral and regional issues

DHAKA, Sept 30: Bangladesh and India discussed bilateral, regional and international issues during a meeting between State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir and Indian High Commissioner Dinesh Trivedi in Dhaka yesterday.

Trivedi paid a courtesy call on Kobir at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and congratulated him on his appointment as state minister.

The meeting covered a range of bilateral matters as well as regional and international issues, including the recently concluded 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Kobir underscored Bangladesh's commitment to engaging with India in a forward-looking and mutually respectful manner on issues of common interest.

He also emphasised the importance of cooperation that serves the interests and benefits of the peoples of both countries.

The meeting took place amid ongoing engagement between Dhaka and New Delhi on bilateral and regional matters.
