Moyeen Khan urges youth to build skills for Bangladesh’s future
Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Minister Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan today called on the country's youth to develop their skills and capabilities to prepare themselves for future leadership and the task of building a better Bangladesh.
"Now is the time for those who are young to go to war. This is not a war fought with weapons; it is a war to build a developed Bangladesh. Ensuring a better future for the country's vast population is the greatest responsibility facing the younger generation, "he said.
The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the 'Graduation Ceremony-2026,' organised by the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh auditorium in the capital today.
He said the present struggle and responsibility of the youth is to build a better future for nearly 18 crore people of Bangladesh.
The minister said the training and development programmes of the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center are preparing young people to face the challenges of the future.
He described such training as preparation for undertaking the broader responsibility of nation-building.
Recalling the courageous role of young people and students at different stages of Bangladesh's history, the minister referred to the Language Movement of 1952, the Liberation War of 1971 and the democratic movement of the 1990s.
He also recalled the contribution of young people in 2024.
Moyeen Khan, also a Standing Committee Member of the ruling BNP said Bangladesh's history is enriched by the sacrifices and contributions of its youth.
"Young people played an important role in the Language Movement, the achievement of independence and the various stages of establishing democracy," he said.
He said the Bengali nation has always stood against injustice and wrong decisions, with young people repeatedly playing a role in bringing the country back to the right path.
"Therefore, the youth must come forward in building the Bangladesh of the future," he added.
The minister told the graduates that completing their training and graduation marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
Alongside personal success, he urged them to use their knowledge, skills and leadership capabilities for the welfare of the country and its people.
"You have major challenges ahead of you. You must prepare yourselves to face those challenges. You have to work for the country, for the people and for the future of Bangladesh," he told the graduates.
Officials and trainers of the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center, students and invited guests attended the programme.
