Milon seeks British Council support for English education, teacher training
Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milan has called for continued support from the British Council to improve English education in the country and enhance teachers’ training and skills.
He made the call when a delegation led by British Council Chief Executive Scott McDonald paid a courtesy call on him at the International Mother Language Institute in the capital today.
During the meeting, the British Council delegation briefed the minister on its various activities in Bangladesh. They also highlighted their commitment to the development of education in the country and their role in educational activities.
The delegation also outlined its ongoing programmes to enhance teachers’ professional skills through modern training.
Among others, British Council Country Director in Bangladesh Stephen Forbes and the organisation’s Head of English and School Education Dipti Das were present at the meeting.
