Freedom Fighter Gazette Enlistment Deadline Extended to October 7
The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has extended the deadline for submitting applications for fresh gazette enlistment as Bir Muktijoddha (Valiant Freedom Fighter).
According to a gazette notification issued on Thursday, the applications can be submitted until 7 October 2026, urging relevant persons to submit applications for gazette enlistment as Bir Muktijoddha within the stipulated time. No new applications will be accepted after the stipulated time.
A memorandum issued from the Gazette Branch of the Ministry requested the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Branch to take necessary measures to publish the public notice on the Ministry's website. Under Secretary Haridas Thakur signed the memorandum.
The Ministry said that previously, applications were received and verification activities were conducted at various times for enlistment as Bir Muktijoddha. The matter of gazette enlistment is settled through the prescribed process after verifying the applicants' role during the Liberation War, relevant documents and other information.
In this regard, there are provisions for verification of applications through the National Freedom Fighters Council and the relevant administrative structure.
