DGHS orders recruitment proposals to fill vacant health posts.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has instructed all government health institutions under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to submit proposals for recruiting personnel against vacant posts at grades 10 to 16.

The directive was issued in a letter recently signed by Prof Dr Jalal Uddin Mohammad Rumi, Director (Administration) of the DGHS and sent to divisional directors, civil surgeons and deputy directors across the country.

According to the letter, the initiative has been taken in line with the Prime Minister's directive to address manpower shortages at government health institutions by urgently filling vacant posts in grades 10-16.

The institutions have been asked to submit proposals to fill all vacant posts through direct recruitment in accordance with the Non-Medical Employees Recruitment Rules-2018.

The letter said institutions where recruitment notices had already been published and applications received, but the recruitment process remained incomplete as of February 10, 2026, must issue fresh recruitment notices, clearly stating the current status of the process.

It also instructed the institutions to arrange for processing applications through the e-Recruitment system and resolve any complications in the recruitment process promptly.

The DGHS asked each institution to submit an update on the progress of its recruitment activities to a designated email address of the directorate by the 5th of every month.

The letter further said the decision was taken following approval from the Health Services Division on July 14 last.
