Nepal, Bangladesh explore ways to boost tourism ties

DHAKA, Sept 14: Nepal and Bangladesh have discussed ways to promote tourism between the two countries and further strengthen people-to-people ties.

Nepalese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanashyam Bhandari held a meeting with the newly elected Board of Directors of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), led by its President Mohammed Hanif, on Sunday morning.

The meeting focused on expanding tourism cooperation between Nepal and Bangladesh, according to a post published by the Nepal Embassy in Dhaka on its official Facebook page on Monday.

The two sides also discussed preparations for the 14th Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF 2026), which is scheduled to be held in Dhaka in October.

Tourism has remained an important avenue for strengthening people-to-people contacts between Nepal and Bangladesh, with both countries seeking greater connectivity and exchanges in the sector.

The latest meeting between the Nepalese envoy and the newly elected TOAB leadership comes as preparations are underway for the upcoming tourism fair, providing an opportunity for tourism stakeholders from the two countries to promote destinations and explore business cooperation.

Ambassador Bhandari has also recently held engagements in Bangladesh focused on strengthening bilateral people-to-people ties.
