Pakistan explore new avenues for trade and economic cooperation
DHAKA: The Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka is stepping up diplomatic outreach to strengthen trade and economic engagement with South Asian countries and explore new avenues for regional cooperation.
As part of the initiative, the High Commission is seeking to enhance diplomatic connectivity and promote greater interaction among businesses and institutions across the region.
A high-level Pakistani diplomatic and trade delegation led by High Commissioner Imran Haider held separate meetings with representatives of the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Tarayana Foundation on Wednesday morning.
The discussions focused on strengthening economic ties, identifying areas of mutual cooperation and encouraging greater private-sector participation in Pakistan-Bhutan economic relations.
The delegation explored ways to deepen engagement with Bhutan's leading business organisation and social development agency, with particular emphasis on trade, investment and the exchange of expertise.
During the meeting with the Tarayana Foundation, Haider appreciated its contribution to socio-economic empowerment and community development in Bhutan.
The two sides also exchanged views on sharing experiences and best practices in vocational training and community-based development initiatives.
The meetings explored opportunities to establish a stronger foundation for trade and economic relations between Pakistan and Bhutan through increased private-sector participation.
The engagements form part of Pakistan's broader diplomatic outreach aimed at strengthening economic linkages and identifying new opportunities for trade, investment and cooperation across South Asia.
