Tarique stresses expanding Bangladesh-China trade, investment, cooperation.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today emphasised further expansion of bilateral trade, investment and development cooperation with China as its outgoing Ambassador Yao Wen paid a farewell call on him at his office.
Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Shiplu said the meeting discussed various issues of mutual interest, including the Rohingya crisis.
Yao Wen congratulated the Prime Minister on his successful participation in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and his various engagements in New York.
The Chinese ambassador said China's support for Bangladesh's development efforts would continue. He also expressed hope that relations between Bangladesh and China would be further strengthened.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir and Chairman of the Invest Bangladesh Authority Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun were present at the meeting.
The outgoing Chinese ambassador was accompanied by Deputy Chief of Mission Liu Yuyin.
