Saudi ambassador reaffirms strong Bangladesh ties on National Day

DHAKA, Sept 23, 2026 — Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Dr Abdullah Zafer Bin Abiyah has reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding relations with Bangladesh, describing the ties between the two countries as being founded on mutual respect, friendship and cooperation.

In a special message marking Saudi Arabia’s 96th National Day, the ambassador extended greetings to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as well as the government and people of Saudi Arabia.

He said the National Day is a “proud moment” for Saudi citizens and others who “live and love Saudi Arabia”, as it commemorates the Kingdom’s unification under its founder, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud.

The ambassador said Saudi Arabia is at an important stage of its development journey, with the leadership continuing to pursue the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The initiative is transforming the Kingdom’s economy, empowering its people, strengthening international partnerships and creating new opportunities across various sectors, he said.

“From economic diversification and investment to tourism, culture, technology, education, healthcare and quality of life, the Kingdom is witnessing a comprehensive transformation that is opening new horizons for the future,” the ambassador said.

Referring to this year’s National Day theme, “Our Pride Is in Our Nature,” Dr Abiyah said it reflects values that have long characterised Saudi society, including generosity, hospitality, determination, authenticity and pride in national identity.

“These values remain an important foundation for the Kingdom as it moves confidently toward the future,” he said.

Highlighting Saudi-Bangladesh relations, the ambassador expressed the Kingdom’s “deep appreciation” for its longstanding and distinguished ties with Bangladesh.

“The bonds between our two brotherly countries are founded on mutual respect, friendship and cooperation, and continue to develop across numerous fields for the benefit of both nations and their peoples,” he said.

The ambassador also expressed confidence in Saudi Arabia’s continued progress, prosperity and development, and wished the Kingdom security, stability and sustainable development under the leadership of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

He concluded his message by wishing the people of Saudi Arabia a “Happy 96th Saudi National Day.”
