Swiss envoy meets NCP leaders amid consultations with political parties

DHAKA: Swiss Ambassador to Bangladesh Reto Renggli met with representatives of the National Citizen Party (NCP) at the Swiss Residence yesterday, as part of his ongoing consultations with Bangladesh’s political parties.

The meeting was the latest in a series of engagements Renggli has held with key political parties this week.

The discussions covered a broad range of national, regional and international issues, according to the Swiss Embassy.

The ambassador said the meetings provided an opportunity to hear the perspectives of major political parties on issues facing Bangladesh.

“It was interesting and insightful to meet again with key political parties and hear their perspectives on the issues facing the country,” the embassy quoted Renggli as saying.

The Swiss envoy’s latest engagement with the NCP comes amid a series of diplomatic interactions with political stakeholders in Bangladesh, focusing on developments at the national, regional and international levels.
