Zabihullah urges unity to build democratic, prosperous Bangladesh.
Prime Minister's Adviser on Ministry of Public
Administration Md Ismail Zabihullah today called upon all to remain united in
the national interest to build a democratic, prosperous, humane and modern
Bangladesh.
Zabihullah, also a member of BNP Standing Committee, made the call while
addressing a discussion meeting as the chief guest, organised by the
Bangladesh Embassy in Seoul, South Korea, marking the historic November 7
National Revolution and Solidarity Day, said a PID release.
He said the Sepoy-People's Revolution of November 7 in the politically
critical situation of 1975 is an important chapter in the history of
protecting Bangladesh's independence, sovereignty and national solidarity.
Under the leadership of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, the foundation was
later laid for reintroducing multiparty democracy and building a self-reliant
Bangladesh, he said.
The adviser said Bangladesh has begun a new democratic journey through the
long anti-fascist movement, the student-people's mass uprising of 2024 and
the national election of February 12, 2026.
Building a democratic, prosperous, humane and modern Bangladesh under the
leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is now the national commitment,
he added.
Highlighting South Korea's development experience, the Adviser said South
Korea has set a unique example to the world through education, technology,
industrialisation and skilled human resources development. This experience
must be applied to Bangladesh's development as well, he continued.
To this end, he laid emphasis on expanding cooperation between Bangladesh and
South Korea in investment, technology transfer and export of skilled
manpower.
Addressing expatriate Bangladeshis, Ismail Zabihullah said expatriates are
one of the driving forces of Bangladesh's economy and proud representatives
of the country's dignity abroad.
Ensuring their rights, security and welfare is one of the main
responsibilities of the government, he added.
Bangladesh Ambassador to South Korea Taufiq Islam presided over the
programme, where BNP Joint Secretary General and Mymensingh Zila Parishad
Administrator Syed Emran Saleh Prince was present as special guest.
In his speech, Emran Saleh Prince said November 7 is a unique symbol of
Bangladesh's independence, sovereignty, national unity and patriotism. There
is no alternative to people's unity and patriotism in facing national crises,
he said.
Calling upon all to unite in the pledge of patriotism, democracy, national
unity and development, he said, "Our identity is one, we are Bangladeshis.
Our interest is one, the interest of Bangladesh. Our pledge is one,
Bangladesh first."
The Ambassador, in his speech, highlighted the significance of National
Revolution and Solidarity Day and praised the contribution of expatriates to
the country's development and to brightening Bangladesh's image on the
international stage.
Earlier, the Public Administration Adviser hoisted the national flag at the
embassy premises.
Officials and staff of the Bangladesh Embassy, expatriate Bangladeshis in
South Korea and representatives from various walks of life were present at
the programme.
