Four-day-long Sport Administrators Course ends
DHAKA, August 22, 2026: The Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA), under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Olympic Solidarity, has successfully concluded a four-day ‘Sport Administrators Course’ aimed at strengthening sports administration and management skills in Bangladesh.
Held from August 19 to 22, the training brought together 29 trainers and sports organizers from the National Sports Council, various Olympic and non-Olympic national sports federations, multi-sports associations, and the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP).
The course focused on enhancing participants’ professional skills in managing sports activities, with detailed sessions on their roles and responsibilities, sports administration, effective management, and related areas. Participants also took part in discussions on the Olympic Movement and the core values of Olympism.
As part of the training, participants delivered group presentations on designated topics, drawing on the knowledge and practical insights gained throughout the course.
The training sessions were conducted by BOA National Course Directors Mahfuzur Rahman Siddiqui, Md. Mosharaf Hossain Molla, Faruqul Islam, Kazi Moinuzzaman, and Brigadier General (Retd.) A B M Shefaul Kabir. Dr. Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman participated as a guest speaker.
The closing ceremony was held at 2:30pm on August 22 at the BOA Auditorium, with BOA Vice-President Barrister Sarwat Siraj attending as the chief guest. He distributed certificates among the participants upon completion of the course.
In his closing remarks, Barrister Sarwat Siraj urged the participants to apply their newly acquired knowledge and skills in their respective fields to improve the quality of sports administration and contribute to the overall development of Bangladesh’s sports sector.
He also called on them to play an active role in promoting and strengthening the Olympic Movement in Bangladesh.
The program reflects BOA’s continued efforts to develop skilled sports administrators and strengthen institutional capacity across the country’s sporting sector.
