USA Roadshow 2026 Strengthens Global Partnerships for Bangladesh’s Semiconductor Future
The Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) successfully completed the Silicon Valley segment of the BSIA Silicon River USA Roadshow 2026, marking a series of high-impact engagements with global semiconductor leaders, research institutions, investors, and Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) professionals.
The Silicon Valley portion of the roadshow was led by Professor Muhammad Mustafa Hussain, Chief Architect of Silicon River Bangladesh, together with leaders from BSIA and participating member companies. The delegation showcased Bangladesh’s growing capabilities in semiconductor design, advanced packaging, electronics, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, and innovation while advancing a long-term vision for transforming Bangladesh into a Nation of Innovation.
SanDisk: Establishing a Five-Year Strategic Collaboration Framework
On June 9, the delegation visited SanDisk and met with Matt Crowley, Senior Vice President, and Deepanshu Dutta, Vice President.
The delegation spent over two and a half hours touring SanDisk’s state-of-the-art R&D facilities and presenting a comprehensive five-year collaboration roadmap between SanDisk and Bangladesh.

Later that day, the delegation visited GlobalFoundries, hosted by Dr. Mahbub Rashed, Vice President, Design Technology Co-Optimization (DTCO). Participating companies presented their portfolios spanning semiconductor design, advanced electronics, healthcare technologies, AI, and innovation-driven products.
A major outcome of the meeting was the confirmation that two Bangladeshi companies will be added as primary vendors within the GlobalFoundries ecosystem.

On June 10, the delegation visited Synopsys and met with Ron Duncan, Chief Innovation Officer. The delegation presented Bangladesh’s semiconductor ecosystem roadmap, highlighting BSIA, Silicon River, CREST, SICIP, SARA, STAR, BRAINGAIN, and BEAR Summit initiatives.

Sacramento BRAINGAIN Reception Mobilizes NRB Semiconductor Community
Following the Silicon Valley meetings, the delegation traveled nearly 150 miles to Sacramento to engage semiconductor professionals and entrepreneurs from Northern California. The Sacramento gathering was organized by NRB semiconductor veteran Mr. Towhid Rahman, whose leadership and longstanding engagement within the semiconductor community helped bring together a highly accomplished group of professionals from across the region.
The delegation presented the progress of Silicon River Bangladesh, the National Semiconductor Strategy, CREST, SICIP, SARA, BEAR Summit, and upcoming opportunities for diaspora engagement. The Sacramento NRB semiconductor community immediately pledged support for the BRAINGAIN initiative and committed to helping strengthen Bangladesh’s growing innovation ecosystem through mentorship, collaboration, investment, strategic guidance, and future industry partnerships.
The event highlighted the growing momentum of the global Bangladeshi semiconductor diaspora and reinforced the critical role NRB professionals will play in connecting Bangladesh with the world’s leading technology companies, universities, investors, and innovation ecosystems.
Intel: Mobilizing Global Bangladeshi Semiconductor Leadership
On June 11, the delegation visited Intel Corporation and met with a large contingent of Bangladeshi-origin Intel technologists under the leadership of Dr. Mahbub Majumder. Numerous additional Intel professionals joined virtually from across the United States. Professor Muhammad Mustafa Hussain delivered a compelling presentation outlining Bangladesh’s semiconductor vision, progress, and opportunities.

Silicon River Banquet Reception Brings Together Global Leaders
On the evening of June 11, nearly 100 NRB entrepreneurs, technologists, researchers, investors, and executives from global semiconductor companies including Synopsys, SanDisk, GlobalFoundries, Intel, and others attended the Silicon River Banquet Reception. His Excellency Mr. Tareq Ariful Islam, Ambassador of Bangladesh to the United States, attended as Chief Guest. In his remarks, the Ambassador emphasized, “BRAINGAIN will serve as the brain, while Silicon River will serve as the engine powering Bangladesh’s transformation into a Nation of Innovation.”
Mr. M A Jabbar, President of BSIA, reflected on BSIA’s journey since beginning engagement with the global Bangladeshi semiconductor diaspora in 2017 and highlighted the remarkable momentum achieved over the last eighteen months.
Dr. Anisul Khan presented the Silicon River framework and outlined engagement opportunities for NRB professionals. Yield Engineering Systems (YES): Building Equipment and Manufacturing Capabilities
On June 12, the delegation visited Yield Engineering Systems (YES) and met with company leadership, including the CEO, Senior Vice President, Corporate Vice President, and Dr. Zia Karim, Chief Technology Officer.

YES leadership identified several areas where joint work can begin immediately, particularly in equipment design, engineering, manufacturing operations, maintenance systems, and advanced packaging workforce development.
