Collaboration will assess renewable-energy opportunities to support resilient digital infrastructure and advance EDOTCO’s decarbonisation ambitions

Dhaka, 8 November 2026 – EDOTCO Bangladesh, the country’s leading digital infrastructure services provider, and FloSolar Solutions Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the development of grid-connected renewable-energy capacity to support EDOTCO’s power requirements across its telecom infrastructure.

The collaboration aims to increase the use of renewable electricity across EDOTCO’s operations, helping to diversify its energy mix while advancing the company’s decarbonisation journey and strengthening the long-term resilience of its digital infrastructure.

Under the MoU, the two companies will assess opportunities for renewable electricity generated by potential solar projects to support eligible EDOTCO operations through the national grid. FloSolar will lead the assessment of potential generation sites, grid connectivity and project development, while EDOTCO will support the assessment of eligible sites and electricity requirements.

Al Batuni Mohammad Sayed Ahmed, Country Managing Director of EDOTCO Bangladesh, said, “As digital infrastructure continues to grow, how we power that infrastructure is increasingly important. By exploring renewable energy at scale, this collaboration marks another step in our decarbonization journey while strengthening the long-term resilience of our operations. We believe the future of connectivity must be both reliable and sustainable.”

Mustafa Azim Kasem Khan, Founder and Managing Director of FloSolar Solutions Limited, said, “Our partnership with EDOTCO creates an opportunity to expand renewable energy across critical connectivity infrastructure. By combining FloSolar’s renewable-energy capabilities with EDOTCO’s infrastructure footprint, we aim to support cleaner and more resilient digital infrastructure and contribute to Bangladesh’s sustainable energy transition.”

The proposed model would enable EDOTCO to explore renewable-energy procurement without upfront capital investment in generation assets, with FloSolar developing and financing potential projects. The model could also provide greater long-term visibility over energy costs, subject to project feasibility and final commercial and regulatory arrangements.

Preliminary estimates suggest that every 100 MWp of developed capacity could generate approximately 130 GWh of renewable electricity annually and avoid around 80,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year, depending on the final project configuration, applicable grid emissions factors and the amount of grid electricity displaced.
