Doa held for former Local Government Division official Ashraful Afsar.
Local government, rural development and
cooperatives minister Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan today attended a doa mahfil and
special munajat seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Mohammad
Ashraful Afsar, a former deputy secretary of the Local Government Division.
The doa mahfil was held at the Local Government Division meeting room of the
Secretariat here.
State Minister for Local Government Mir Shahe Alam, Secretary Mohammad
Shahidul Hasan, and senior officials and employees of the ministry and
division attended the programme, among others.
Recalling the late Ashraful Afsar, the minister said, "Ashraful Afsar was a
dedicated and responsible official of the division. With his death, the Local
Government Division has lost a skilled officer. His colleagues will remember
his dedication to work and sense of responsibility for a long time."
State Minister Mir Shahe Alam said the division was deeply saddened by the
untimely death of Ashraful Afsar. He was sincere and dutiful in discharging
his responsibilities, Shahe Alam said, adding, "The void created by his death
would not be easy to fill."
At the doa mahfil, prayers were offered to the Almighty Allah for the
forgiveness of the departed soul of Ashraful Afsar and extended heartfelt
sympathy to his bereaved family.
