Omani royal family member praises Bangladeshi workers’ contributions.
Omani royal family member Al Sayyid Mohammed Salim Ali Al Said today appreciated the valuable contribution of Bangladeshi workers to Oman’s development and economic activities, highlighting scope for further cooperation between the two countries.
He made the remarks during a courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam at the foreign ministry here, according to a ministry press release.
During the meeting, Shama discussed ways to further strengthen Bangladesh-Oman economic relations, with particular emphasis on the possibility of opening Oman’s labour market to Bangladeshi workers.
Al Sayyid, a member of the Royal Family of the Sultanate of Oman, acknowledged the role played by Bangladeshi expatriate workers in contributing to the Gulf country's development and economy.
He noted that there remained considerable scope for further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between Bangladesh and Oman.
The meeting came as Dhaka continues diplomatic efforts to expand overseas employment opportunities for Bangladeshi workers and strengthen economic engagement with Oman.
Omani Chargé d’Affaires to Bangladesh Fathia Ahmed Al Balushi and other members of the delegation were present during the meeting.
