DHAKA, August 27, 2026: The newly formed ad-hoc committee of the Bangladesh Swimming Federation has formally assumed responsibility, with the handover ceremony held at the auditorium of the Navy Headquarters in Dhaka on Thursday.
Chief of Naval Staff and President of the Bangladesh Swimming Federation Vice Admiral Khondkar Misbah ul Azim attended the ceremony as the chief guest. Senior naval officials, including Captain Salauddin Ahmed, were also present.
During the ceremony, outgoing General Secretary Md. Shahinur Rahman Shahin formally handed over the operational responsibilities of the federation to the newly appointed General Secretary, Syed Aminul Huq Dewan Sojol.
Engineer Golam Mohammad Alamgir has been appointed Senior Vice President of the new ad-hoc committee. Commodore Abu Sayed Md. Afzalul Haque, Maruf Ahmed Bijon and Lutfar Rahman have been appointed Vice Presidents.
Mohammad Salim Mia and Md. Josimuddin Khasru will serve as Joint General Secretaries, while Mohammad Rezaul Hossain Badsha has been appointed Treasurer.
The Executive Members of the new committee are Group Captain (Retd.) Md. Rafiqul Islam, Md. Abul Hossain Dhali, Mohammad Abul Hashem, Advocate Md. Nazrul Islam, Mokhlesur Rahman, Kazi Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, Laila Noor Begum, Mahfuza Rahman Tania, Md. Din Amin, Tapan Chanda, Nazim Uddin Julius, Nargis Ara Anannya, Md. Shahjahan Ali Roni, Kawser Ahmed, Md. Shamsul Huda, Md. Atiqur Rahman, Kamal Hossain, Md. Harun Ur Rashid and Moli Akter.
The formal transfer of responsibility marks the beginning of the new committee's tenure in overseeing the administrative and organisational affairs of the Bangladesh Swimming Federation.
The committee is expected to focus on strengthening the country's swimming administration and supporting the continued development of swimmers and swimming activities in Bangladesh.
