Malaysia Condemns Attack on Riyadh Airport, Stands in Solidarity with Saudi Arabia

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has strongly condemned the attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, expressing condolences to the victims' families and solidarity with the Saudi people.

In a statement, Anwar said the attack had taken innocent lives and left hundreds injured. He extended his deepest condolences to the families of those killed and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

“There can be no justification for attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure,” Anwar said, stressing that endangering innocent lives would only deepen the suffering caused by the ongoing conflict.

He warned that such attacks risk extending the consequences of the conflict into places that should remain beyond its reach.

Anwar reaffirmed Malaysia's support for Saudi Arabia at what he described as a perilous time, expressing hope that diplomatic efforts and reason would prevail before the conflict escalates further.

“Malaysia stands in solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its people,” he said, underscoring the importance of diplomacy in preventing further escalation.

His statement highlights Malaysia's call for the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure amid growing concerns over the wider regional consequences of the conflict.
