DSE launches month-long cybersecurity awareness campaign

DHAKA, Oct 11, 2026: The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has launched a month-long cybersecurity awareness programme for the first time, aiming to strengthen digital security across the capital market and protect stakeholders from online fraud and cyber threats.

The programme, running throughout October to mark Cyber Security Awareness Month 2026, targets DSE officials, employees and Trading Right Entitlement Certificate (TREC) holders. It seeks to promote safe digital practices, improve the ability to identify cyber risks and encourage greater responsibility for online security.

As part of the initiative, the premier bourse has displayed cybersecurity awareness banners and festoons across its premises and introduced awareness-themed desktop wallpapers on the computers of its officials and employees.

The campaign also focuses on helping stakeholders recognise suspicious emails, malicious links and other potential cyber threats that could compromise digital systems and sensitive information.

The DSE is organising online cybersecurity training sessions for TREC holders through the Zoom platform. Participants have been divided into separate groups to provide practical guidance on key cybersecurity issues and strengthen their ability to respond to potential threats.

An online quiz competition has also been arranged to assess participants’ cybersecurity knowledge and encourage them to improve their awareness. Winners will be selected based on an evaluation of their answers.

In addition, the DSE plans to recognise TREC holders who perform well in the cybersecurity awareness activities. Selected participants will receive certificates at the exchange’s regular ‘Meet & Greet’ event, an initiative intended to encourage wider engagement in promoting cyber safety.

The exchange’s IT Strategy & Security Department is coordinating the programme, including the preparation of awareness materials, training sessions and the quiz competition. The IT Infrastructure, Network, Public Relations & Publications departments, along with the managing director’s office, are providing support as required.

The DSE said cybersecurity awareness and responsible behaviour among stakeholders were as important as technological safeguards in securing technology-driven capital market operations.

The initiative is expected to strengthen cybersecurity awareness across the exchange and its stakeholders, supporting efforts to build a safer, more reliable and technology-driven capital market in Bangladesh.
