DHAKA, Oct 4, 2026 — Pakistan and Bangladesh have discussed ways to expand bilateral trade and investment, strengthen business-to-business connectivity and improve linkages between their respective revenue authorities.

Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider made the remarks during a meeting with Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, adviser to the ministries of Finance and Planning, in Dhaka on Sunday.

During the meeting, Haider briefed the adviser on what he described as steady growth in bilateral relations between the two countries, according to a press release issued by the Pakistan High Commission.

The high commissioner also apprised Titumir of decisions taken at the ninth session of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Joint Economic Commission (JEC) and the progress made in implementing those decisions.

The two sides discussed the scope for expanding bilateral trade and investment, as well as creating linkages between the respective Boards of Revenue.

Titumir encouraged continued dialogue through bilateral and multilateral forums, saying greater connectivity between businesses and people could help deepen economic relations between the two countries.

He also stressed the importance of promoting supply-chain linkages and fostering cultural activities as part of broader engagement between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

The meeting comes amid efforts by the two countries to strengthen economic and commercial ties and explore new areas of cooperation.
